The objective of the scheme was to achieve a pleasant and relaxing
area for recreation in Arkholme, for people of all ages and surrounding
areas. The challenge was to create an area that would blend
in with it’s surroundings, with the design providing a central
levelled area with surrounding areas providing a quiet atmosphere
for sitting and relaxing.
The project comprised of major earthworks
and laser grading, installation of primary and secondary drainage systems
then cultivation and seeding, although not without it’s unforeseen
problems; such as a natural spring running underneath the middle of
the central area, the site was completed and the people of Arkholme
have a fantastic recreational area.
