faced by the golf
club was that
the existing outlet system was
too high
to achieve suitable [fall]. Work involved the design
and
implementation of a completely
new system, with
additional work
including fairway drainage. |

Duncan Ross often works to other Company’s designs. Turf
Trax Ltd introduced Duncan Ross to the Upton-By-Chester Golf Club
and in the first instance installed a drainage system to their
design. Duncan Ross has since performed further work for
Upton-By-Chester Golf Club on a regular basis. In addition
Upton-By-Chester Golf Club have recommended our Company to various
other Clubs. |

Project: Fairway Drainage

We have been working with the Club for over 10 years improving ground
conditions over the course, in 2005 we have completed drainage works
on 12th , 16th and 17th Fairways plus improvements to 4th Fairway as
below:
Problem:- Surface water logging caused by large build up of thatch,
which created an impervious layer.
Treatments:-
1. Scarifying and removal of debris.
2. Hollow tine fairways to depth of 100mm and remove cores.
3. Topdressing with medium fine sand.
4. Drag mat fairway to work sand into cores
5. Apply Fertiliser.
6. Vertidrain after 4 weeks to remove compaction.
