With the governments ever increasing emphasis on healthy lifestyles and outdoor physical
activity there has been a greater demand for Local Authority work.  This concentrates on re-newing,
re-developing and re-constructing playing fields, parks and recreation areas used by the public,
sports teams, schools and colleges.

Our work with Local Authorities encompasses the design, drainage installation, maintenance,
renovation of playing fields and incorporating our expertise in improving the conditions of individual
pitches or plots of land.

Our recurring work with many departments within Local Authorities in the North of England stands
testament to our reputation.  Our commitment to health and safety, value for money and quality of
work in the context of the environment is fundamental to Local Authority requirements, our experience
and excellent reputation for completing work on time and within budget make Duncan Ross Land
Drainage Ltd a popular choice for this type of project.

The importance of functional sports pitches and recreational areas, and how intensively they are used,
shapes the way we work.  Our planning is designed and carried out to ensure that normal use can be
resumed in most cases immediately upon project completion.

Our Services include:

Pitch Construction
Laser Grading

Primary Piped Drainage Systems

Gravel/Sand Slitting– intensifying the drainage system by quickly transferring surface water into the drainage pipe below.
Pumped drainage systems

Our work is carried out using modern machinery operated by experienced skilled operatives, with an
emphasis on timely completion with minimal disruption to the site.  The drainage trenching machine
will cut a minimum-width drainage trench to a laser controlled depth and grade, drains are laid into
a clean cut spoil free trench, trench spoil is removed directly into specialist low-ground pressure
machinery causing no contamination to the existing sward. Suitable permeable fill is then placed in
the trenches by a specially designed backfilling hopper.

Our full renovation and maintenance programme ensures the success of a project into the medium
and long term and includes the following:

Top dressing
Vertidraining
Hollow tining
Cultivation and Seeding
Fertilising
Spraying
Scarifying
Korroing
Mowing
Earthquake
